Health Benefits of Lemon Water (Including Detox) – Evidence Based

Lemon water is a refreshing drink that is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants. Drinking a glass of warm lemon water every morning is a great way to kick-start your day. The benefits of lemon water include boosting your immune system, helping to keep your heart health, and improving your skin appearance.
The benefits of drinking lemon water include the fact that it is low in calories. The juice of one lemon squeezed in a glass of warm water only has 11 calories. It’s a great choice for dieters as it adds a great flavor to the water and makes you feel fuller. It also contains up to half of your daily vitamin C requirements.
Squeezed lemon juice is healthy for you because it also contains fiber, vitamin B6, calcium, and potassium.
One of the reasons that lemon infused water is good for us is because lemons and lemon zest contain flavonoids and polyphenols. These plant-based antioxidants help to protect you against chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
In this article, I will look at what scientific studies have revealed as to the many health benefits of drinking lemon water. At the end of the article, you will find an easy lemon water detox recipe to boost your immune system.
Lemon Water Nutrition
Lemon is a delicious citrus fruit that grows in warm climates. Pure lemon juice has a sharp, tangy taste to it. Diluting lemon juice in warm or cold water helps to make drinking water more palatable.
The juice of an average sized lemon contains plenty of vitamins and minerals. In fact, lemon water containing the juice of a large lemon has between 20 mg and 30 mg vitamin C.
Drinking a glass of lemon water every morning can provide you with up to 50% of your vitamin C recommended daily intake (RDI). (1)
The juice of one lemon (47 g) in a glass of water has the following nutritional benefits:
- 11 calories
- 4 g carbs
- 21.6 mg vitamin C (36% RDI)
- 1 mg folate (2% RDI)
- 3 mg potassium (2% RDI)
- 8 mg magnesium (1% RDI)
- 3 mg calcium
- 4 IU vitamin A
The benefits of lemon water are also boosted by the levels of its antioxidants. Researchers report that citrus fruits like lemons have high levels of vitamin C and flavonoids – both powerful antioxidants. The antioxidant activity of vitamin C in lemon juice can help to prevent oxidative damage in the body. This is the reason why drinking lemon water can aid in detoxification. Consuming citrus juices can be the primary source of dietary vitamin C. (2)
Health Benefits of Lemon Water
How can drinking lemon water every morning (or at other times during the day) boost your health?
The Chemistry Central Journal reported that citrus fruits such as lemons contain compounds that are essential for your metabolism and health. Citrus fruits like lemons have anticancer properties, they help reduce inflammation, destroy free radicals, and protect cardiovascular health. (3)
Let’s look in more detail at how drinking lemon water can help address a number of health conditions.
Lemon Water Can Strengthen Your Immune System
One of the most important benefits of drinking lemon water is that their vitamin C content helps strengthen your immunity.
Researchers report that vitamin C (which is found in lemons) is an essential micro-nutrient to keep the body healthy. Vitamin C protects the cells against damage and increases antibodies that help fight infection. Regular intake of vitamin C helps to prevent and treat respiratory and other infections in the body. (4)
The high vitamin C content in lemons can help prevent flu and cold infections. Studies into the ways of boosting the immune system have found that vitamin C helps reduce the duration of common cold symptoms. Increasing the levels of vitamin C has been linked with lower inflammation and reducing allergic responses. (5)
Research has also found that infections and stress can lower vitamin C levels. (6) Consuming warm lemon water when you have a cold or other infection can help to offset a vitamin C deficiency.
In fact, supplementing your diet with vitamin C and zinc can help to treat infections like pneumonia and diarrhea. (6)
Apart from vitamin C, there are many other ways that you can strengthen your immunity.
Lemon Water Benefits Your Cardiovascular Health
Lemon water is good for you because it helps to keep your heart and arteries in good health.
Studies into the antioxidant properties of citrus fruits such as lemons have found that their peel contains polyphenolic compounds called hesperidin and naringin. These chemicals have been shown to be effective in improving cardiovascular health. (7, 8) The juice and peel from citrus fruits like lemon can lower blood pressure, reduce lipids (fats in blood), and help prevent cardiovascular disease. (9)
Research has also revealed that lemon peel (as with other citrus fruits) has high amounts of antioxidants like hesperidin and naringin. Lemon peel is also a good source of dietary fiber, which is also associated with protecting cardiovascular health. (10)
To make a healthy tonic for your heart, you could also grate the lemon peel and mix it in your lemon water before drinking every morning.
The high levels of vitamin C in lemon infused water also help to protect your cardiovascular health. One cohort study on over 120,000 adults found that consuming foods rich in vitamin C can protect against coronary heart disease. (11)
Let’s look at scientific research at the specific ways antioxidant, vitamin C-rich drinks like lemon water can benefit your coronary system.
Consuming lemon water can lower blood pressure
Drinking lemon water in the morning can have an anti-hypertensive effect.
Scientific research has shown that lemons and lemon peel can help to lower blood pressure. Drinking lemon water and daily walking had a combined effect to reduce systolic blood pressure. The study reported that lemon consumption increased citric acid levels in the body and improved blood pressure. (12)

Drinking lemon water daily can lower your risk of stroke
A daily dose of lemon water can also reduce your risk of suffering a stroke.
A study from Japan over a 20-year period found that a lack of vitamin C was often related to incidences of stroke. The researchers suggested that a vitamin C can help protect against stroke. (13)

Lemon infused water helps lower cholesterol
One of the many benefits of drinking lemon water is lowering LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. The antioxidant content of lemon peel and the vitamin C levels in lemons help to reduce this type of fat in your blood.
Doctors say that low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is the “bad” type that causes a buildup of plaque in the arteries. However, supplementing your diet with vitamin C can help to lower LDL cholesterol. The results of one study showed that 500 mg per day of vitamin C for 4 weeks can help to lower “bad” cholesterol. (14)
Antioxidants in lemons can also help to reduce cholesterol levels in your blood. Laboratory trials using mice have found that citrus fruits contain flavonoids that have a cholesterol-lowering effect. (15)
Find out what else you can do to lower your cholesterol to safe levels.
Lemon Water Promotes Digestive Health
Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning is good for you because it can boost your digestion.
There are a number of factors why drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice in a glass of water can help improve your digestion.
Research has shown that lemon peel contains amounts of dietary fiber. This can help in improving digestion and increasing nutrient absorption in the small intestine. Fiber from citrus fruits can have an overall benefit on intestinal health. (16)
When preparing your lemon water drink, remember to grate in some of the lemon zest and mix it before drinking.
Another way that lemon water is good for your digestion is that it increases your hydration levels. Some studies indicate that dehydration can result in gastrointestinal disorders. (17) Also, not drinking enough fluids has been linked to chronic constipation. (18)
Apart from drinking warm lemon water, find out what other herbal teas can improve your digestive health.
Lemon Water Improves the Appearance of Your Skin
Drinking a glass or two of warm or slightly hot lemon water every day can help to improve the appearance of your skin.
What factors are involved in improving the look of your skin by drinking lemon water?
Vitamin C is an important antioxidant that helps to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Research has shown that dietary vitamin C is an important nutrient for the skin. Higher intakes of vitamin C in your diet can help to improve skin appearance and prevent the signs of premature aging. (19)
Also, dietary antioxidants like carotenoids and polyphenols (which are found in lemon water) can provide protection against oxidative damage of the skin. Nutrients like vitamin C also help to protect skin cells against damage. (20)
Another benefit to your skin of regularly drinking lemon water is that increased hydration keeps your skin healthy. One study found that drinking water significantly benefits your skin and provides deep skin hydration. (21)
Find out about signs that you may be dehydrated and need to increase your daily fluid intake.
Lemon Water Assists in Weight Loss
Adding a glass of lemon water to your daily diet may help you lose weight.
There is no hard, scientific proof that lemon water can burn fat in humans. However, there is evidence that lemons can help you lose weight faster.
One study on the antioxidants in lemons found that polyphenols could have an anti-obesity potential. Scientists noticed that mice who consumed lemon peel extracts had less weight gain than mice who didn’t receive the lemon extract. They concluded that lemon polyphenols could improve or prevent obesity. (22)
Of course, it is not known if drinking lemon water every day would have the same fat-burning effect on humans. However, one trial on humans showed that lemon peels do have the potential to lower obesity. Researchers found that lemon extracts improved cardiovascular health and slightly lowered body mass index. (23)
Drinking lemon water regularly can also indirectly assist in weight loss because it helps to make you feel fuller. You can also reduce your calorie intake by switching to lemon water rather than drinking sugary sodas.
Find out simple tweaks you can do every day to improve your health and lose weight safely.
Drinking Lemon Water Can Prevent Kidney Stones
One or two glasses of warm lemon water every day can help prevent and treat kidney stones.
The science behind the ability of lemons to prevent kidney stones is linked to the effect that lemon water has on urinary citrate. Research has shown that higher levels of urinary citrate help prevent oxalate stone from forming. Researchers suggested that lemon water is an alternative treatment for kidney stones. (24)
How much lemon water per day should you drink for kidney stones? One study found that consuming 5 or 6 tablespoons of lemon juice a day could help to prevent recurring problems with kidney stones. (25)
Find out about other ways to treat kidney stones naturally, including how apple cider vinegar can dissolve kidney stones.
Lemon Water Can Help Manage Diabetes
Lemon water is low in carbs and low in calories and can benefit you if you suffer from diabetes.
Research published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that vitamin C can help manage blood glucose levels. (26)
Another reason why lemon water is good if you have diabetes is that it increases insulin sensitivity. Studies have revealed that flavonoids in citrus fruits can help treat insulin resistance, lower blood lipid levels, and reduce inflammation. (27)
Lemons are just one of the many foods that can help to manage symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
Lemon Water May Have Anticancer Potential
The high content of vitamin C and antioxidants in lemons and lemon peel means that it has anticancer properties.
There is no evidence to suggest that drinking a glass of water a day can treat cancer. However, adding a glass or two of lemon water as part of a healthy diet can help prevent the development of certain cancers. Scientists have said that vitamins, flavonoids, and antioxidants in fruit juices have “cancer inhibitory properties.” (28)
Interestingly, the journal Nutrition and Cancer reported that citrus peel consumption may help protect against certain cancers. (29)
You can increase the benefits of drinking lemon water by adding grated lemon peel to your drink.
How to Make Lemon Water (Lemon Water Recipe)
It is very easy to make your own lemon water. However, to really benefit from ingesting lemon water, you should drink at least one glass per day.
Some people prefer adding freshly squeezed lemon juice to a cup of warm water. It is claimed that warm lemon water drinks help to improve digestion and put less stress on your intestines.
Or, you may prefer refreshing cold lemon water especially on a hot day or after exercising.
Lemon water detox recipe
To make your detox lemon water, this is what you should do:
- Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into an 8-oz glass of warm water.
- If you want, grate the rind of the lemon into the glass to increase the benefits of lemon water.
- Drink the lemon water first thing in the morning (some recommend on an empty stomach, about 20-30 minutes before breakfast).
Hot lemon water may result in destroying many of the beneficial nutrients of lemon. If you decide to use hot water and lemon, you should let the water cool for a bit before adding the lemon juice.
You can also add apple cider vinegar to your lemon water drink to boost its health benefits. Check out these easy and effective recipes of apple cider vinegar detox drinks.
When is the Best Time to Drink Lemon Water?
Although you can drink lemon juice at any time of the day, you may get the most benefit from fresh lemon water by drinking it when you wake up.
What are the benefits of drinking lemon water in the morning? Here are a few:
- You may be slightly dehydrated in the morning, and drinking lemon water can help replenish essential fluids.
- A glass of lemon water can help you feel fuller and prevent overeating later in the day.
- Drinking a glass of warm lemon water detox in the morning may help improve digestion and help detoxify your body.
- You are more likely to remember to drink lemon water if you have a set time first thing in the morning
What if I Don’t Like Warm Lemon Water?
In my article “Which Is Better: Drinking Cold Or Warm Water?” I’ve mentioned cases where warm water is better. For example for better digestion or detox purposes drink warm lemon water.
However drinking cold lemon water is good after exercise or if you have a fever and you want to cool your body down.
In any case, if you want to use lemon water for better digestion and detoxifying your body and you don’t like warm water, you can also drink it in a room temperature.
Side Effects of Lemon Water
Lemons are tangy citrus fruits that are packed with goodness. There are usually no adverse effects of drinking warm lemon water or cold lemon water. Doctors on WebMD say that lemons are generally safe to consume even in higher medical amounts. (30)
However, there are a few things to be aware of:
- Lemons contain a high amount of citric acid which could affect tooth enamel. Drinking through a straw or rinsing your mouth with water afterward can prevent any damage to your teeth.
- Although lemon water can help prevent acid reflux, it seems to cause symptoms of heartburn in some people.
- Lemon water isn’t a diuretic, but drinking more fluid throughout the day will make you use the bathroom more.

Will lemon juice do as well or must it be a lemon?
You can use a glass of warm water with the juice of a quarter or half a fresh lemon.
can lemon juice do as well
When consumed internally it’s easier to consume lemon water, as pure lemon juice is just too sour to drink, and you enjoy the benefits of drinking water which is important by itself.
Does it have to be the juice of a fresh lemon, or can you use the bottled or from concentrate lemon juice? If you can use the bottled, what would be the amount (teaspoon/tablespoon?)?
Fresh lemon is the best because it retains the nutrients which are time sensitive. Bottled lemon juice may have additives that have very little to do with lemons (like citric acid, sugar and water). The amount which is usually used is the juice of half a fresh lemon in 12 to 16 ounces of water.
It has to be fresh lemon of course due to its vitamins n must drink it quick bcos d vit.c evaporates in seconds.did u know that?
I squeeze fresh lemon juice and freeze them in ice trays
did u really read the post.. it says lemon water not lemon juice…
Lemon from real lemons…..not bottle lemon juice.
Is real lemon( from a bottle ok? It is real lemon (not concentrated) I get it from whole foods.
Fresh lemon is the best because it retains nutrients the most.
When I go to a restaurant to eat, I always order water with lemon slices instead of a soda or other sugary drink. Don’t know why, I just have been doing it for years.
Really glad for the info
Jenny, I asked about getting your info in book form and you got back to me very quickly, thank you. Since the lemon water was just published on FB I thought I would ask this question now. I know the benefits of the lemon and want to know if Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar does the same things and works the same way. Can one use either of them interchangeable and get the same results. If not what are the differences? I use a lot of ACV and it is suppose to help with artheritis. Does it do all of the other things that lemons do.
Thank you so much for your input.
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne, both ACV and lemon juice are said to have similar benefits. I have found a good article “Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice?” that talks about the two and I think will answer to your question – have a look here – https://raw-pleasure.com.au/Articles/apple-cider-vinegar-or-lemon-juice
I put both in my water & add 1 teaspoon unfiltered Honey with cayenne pepper & a pinch of organic cinnamon. Sometimes Ginger, the kind you get from the spice section in a grocery store. I am going to buy fresh ginger & grate it into my water concoction.
If I drink continously 2 days lemon water. I get throat pain and cough.
any remedy for this please.
It might be that you put too much lemon in the water, so either reduce a bit the amount or lemon, or add honey to sooth your throat or don’t use it a day after day, but rather 3-4 times a week.
Add some honey and make hot lemon tea.
If you have acid reflux or GERD lemon can make it worse. The symptoms you describe sound like it. The acid comes up at night when you lie flat in bed and irritates your throat, also causing the cough.
I’ve been drinking lemon water for yrs now as I had a scan and was told I have a 2.1cm gallstone. I read it can dissolve gallstones, have you heard of this or anyone this has worked for? I am NOT removing my gallbladder! Tks alot
Hi Sharon, you can find more information about it in my article How to Get Rid of Gallstones (Including Gallbladder Cleanse & Flush)
Ive had my gallbladder removed. The surgery is very minor and it didnt make a difference in the way i feel or eat other than my sharp pain going away.
Try apple liver flush. My gallstones abt 2.5cm x3 came out. Green apples for better effect. I prefer eat than juice.
lemon with luke warm water increases the heartburn.
If you tend to suffer from heartburn, have a look at my article about Proven Home Remedies for Heartburn (Acid Reflux) & Natural Antacids
When you have to qualify all you propositions with “it may” you know there isn’t any scientific evidence to support your assertions. I can say all of the above about chewing fat cubes too, and be just as correct.
Hi Joe, in the field of natural health the scientific evidence is often not enough to use the words “it will”. Many studies are not conclusive or not big enough or further research is needed. Although there has not been a large amount of scientific work in the form of clinical trials to authenticate certain claims, I believe this is due to the fact that we are talking about natural substances and therefore can’t be patented by the large Pharma corporations. This is one of the main reason the world of western medicine dismisses alternative treatments as ‘complementary medicine’ at best. If you want to chew fat cubes and believe it’s going to help you – you are most welcome to do it!
Does it have to be warm or lukewarm water??
It can also be a water at a room temperature.
I have loved lemons my whole life … I actually peel and eat them like oranges . Just curious if the same benefits are achieved or does lemon juice have to be added to water ?
Hi Theresa, many people can’t eat lemons like oranges because they are too sour, hence it’s is diluted in water. But if you like them as is, you don’t have to add water. Just bear in mind one thing – I have read that the acids in fresh lemons can damage your teeth because they cause the enamel on the surface to wear away, leaving the teeth more susceptible to cavities and decay. I’ve read that sucking on fresh lemons or drinking undiluted lemon juice is the most damaging because the acids stick to your teeth. It is recommended that if you add lemon juice to water or tea, drink the beverage through a straw to keep as much of the acid off your teeth as possible, and limit your intake of whole lemon segments as well.
As I have acidity problem some time will it be ok to have lemon water, does lemon works against acidity
If you drink too much lemon water, it may trigger heartburn, or make this condition worse if you tend to suffer from it.
hi Jenny,i have a hyperthyroid and constipated and also sometimes i feel acidic in my stomach,it is good to me to drink everyday a water lemon juice?
Drinking too much lemon with water may trigger heartburn, or make this condition worse if you’re used to experiencing it.
thanks…
Love to have a glass of lemon. Water
Lemon is not so commonly available in my country, Nigeria; but we have the sister citrus, the Lime, in abundance. Lime does the same, but my fear now, it’s like, if it’s taken for long, it results into infertility or impotence.
I saw the study that you were talking about (http://www.fertilityauthority.com/blogger/claire/2012/2/23/lime-juice-bad-fertility). It was conducted on rats and researchers now want to check how it affects humans.
Please can Limes and lemons be used interchangeably to produce equal results?
Yes.
Thanx. I love lemon water n been having it everday though not always on an empty stomach
thanks a lot for the information about herbal health benifits of which we are actually drinking lemon with warm water every morning daily.
I put fresh mint in mine as well x
Vitamin C also nutralizes chlorine, only a few drops in a glass needed or throw a used lemon skin in a bath.Namaste.:)
Hi Jenny, am most grateful for your generous sharing of info’s. I am not concerned about the possibility of lime juice affecting fertility issue. Other than this, will drinking lime water give the same benefits as lemon water since limes are grown in abundance in my country? Thank you in advance.
Drinking lime water is a good alternative to lemon water – they both have similar nutrient content.
ME TOO. love it. Most restaraunts tea is pathetic.
I love using lemons with pretty much dish I prepare for my family. Lemon water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and again at evening is brilliant. My skin is glowing and haven’t been sick in a while. Amazing stuff.
I would love to see the recipe for the lemon water with mint
I have acidity problem. How can i apply this one? Should i drink lemon with warm water? Becoz its very usefull infirmation also good for our health…thanks
Don’t drink too much lemon water, as it may trigger heartburn, or make this condition worse if you tend to suffer from it. Start from small amounts and see how you go.
I’m a natural healer, trained in a variety of therapies. Having heartburn, or acid reflux is generally caused by undigested food sitting in the stomach. The rotting food produces its own acid, which is what you’re experiencing. You need more DIGESTIVE enzymes to digest your food thoroughly. Another cause is hiatal hernia, which is easily treated. Lemon water is wonderful! But, anything to the extreme can hurt us. NEVER drink iced or cold drinks! It shuts down digestion completely!
To make a lemon water, do i have to squeze the lemon to get the juice or it is sufficient to slice the lemon
If you slice the lemon you will get less of its juices in comparison to squeezing it, so it’s better to squeeze it to better enjoy its benefits.
my daughter is fighting with extreme acne on her face, if she try this , would it work
thanks
Hi Azra, I don’t believe it will help to extreme case of acne as it’s not a magic cure. You can have a look at my article about acne face masks, but in really hard cases you will need to consult with a dermatologists for a suitable treatment.
Thanks very much for your unselfishness.I only knew that lemon water is good for high blood but I did not know that it has so many benefits.I am starting right away to drink it.Thanks God my neighbour has lemon trees.May God bless you as you are blessing others.
I constipate and diabetic although on a lower level; I want to make a habit in drinking warm but not cold lemon water on regular basis daily-thanks for the info
Your posts are very beneficial. I’ve been using ACV toner on my skin n it really works fr making acne go away. I want to start drinking lemon water but do tell me if I can add honey in it too? Or does is it have to be only lemon to get full benefits?
You can add a little bit of honey.
Can I add honey in it or should be only lemon to get full benefits?
You can add a little bit of honey to it.
can TTC/pregnant woman take lemon water pls
Yes, she can.
Hi Jenny: I have Licken Plantus in mouth and acid make tongue sore….. do you think it will heal if I continue? Thank you for your help and all your information…
Hi Jean, I’ve seen in NHS website that it is recommended to avoid eating spicy foods and anything acidic, such as fruit juice, because they can irritate oral lichen planus.
Thanks for the information. I discovered these benefits two weeks ago. The mixture works on constipation straight away!! I even found it magical with burning urinary. Best regards.
I take medicine first thin in the morning on an empty stomach and wait an hour before eating. Can I drink honey lemon water with the pills or will it start the digestion process on my pills. The pills need to work in my gut. If not, I’ll be up for two hours before eating anything!
Thanks!
I’m not sure Elizabeth. Every medication has different interactions with food, beverages and supplements. As always, it is important to consult with your physician about it.
Hi Jenny do we have to slice the lemon and add water or squeeze? Please clarify..!!
Hi Sally, it’s best to squeeze it.
I have one querie you said that take lamon hao water with empty stomach, but it’s before brush or after brush…….. Plz give ur opinion & why?
Some people recommend taking it on an empty stomach, which means about 20-30 min. before consuming breakfast. Then after breakfast you can brush your teeth as usual.
i have been drinking lemon honey and appl vinaigar cidre for 4 month and it help reduce my weight and my waistline
Grateful for your informative article … lemon tree loaded and needed to know how to put them to good use. Found you just in time to do just that. Hope to find others to share my harvest with … tree is laden with large lemons … Meyer lemons are cross between lemon and mandarin orange … hope they’re acceptable. Presently they’re bright yellow but turn orange if left on the tree. Going to order your 70 helpful ideas for my IPad. PS … my grandmother used to have hot water and lemon everyday, she had beautiful skin. This goes back to the 40’s. Memories of one of my favorite people, bedridden and never complained. Back then, loved ones stayed home and were cared for … perhaps one of the reasons I became a nurse. Thanks Nana. Parden my digressing readers.
I made a big batch to drink through the week instead of making a new cup everyday. Will that still work or did I have to squeeze a new lemon each and every day?
Fresh is the best as some nutrients lose vitality relatively quickly through exposure to light and air.
Is this therapy advisable for a person with collapsed lung. Will it improve menstural discomfort.
Hi Ruth, since I’m not a doctor, I believe that a person with a special medical condition should talk to his/her doctor to be on the safe side of things. Some websites list lemon water as an aid to relief menstrual cramps. They claim that drinking water keeps your body from retaining water and helps to avoid painful bloating during menstruation. They also claim that warm water is usually better for cramps, as warm liquids increase blood flow and may relax cramped muscles. However I couldn’t find a scientific evidence for it, but perhaps it is worth a try as a home remedy.
Hi I have only been drinking lemon water for around two weeks my feet have started to ache I have been told it is because I’m detoxing is this true thank you
Some people experience symptoms such as dizziness and outbreaks after doing extreme detoxing, and the symptoms range from mild to severe, depending on the person and what they’ve taken. But drinking lemon water is a gentle detox and should not cause these things, especially if you don’t combine it with any other extreme detox measurements. I also don’t believe it should cause any feet pain, and you need to find out if the aching feet result from something else. You should not suffer while doing it. If you suspect however that there is any link between the two, as only you know your body best, then discontinue with it or limit the amount of lemon water, for example every alternate days rather than every day.
I have read most of every ones comments and you may go with lemon water, but I can’t believe than not anyone has an alkaline machine! I have one installed in my home it’s the best thing I have ever purchased for the money. I no longer have back pain, I have lost weight it’s for detox and it’s got 4 different levels of drink water, has purified water without chemicals it also has acidic setting for your face. My mothers medication for acid reflux and high blood pressure no longer needed. This also hydrates you 3-5 times faster than tap / bottled-Gatorade! Your colon will be clean again. I can go on am on.If you want more information on this machine please contact at [email protected] we also did a ph test on the bottled water your drinking (major brands) they were in the yellow. It’s .2 from the coke on the ph charts it’s almost just like drinking a coke! When you drink alkaline water out of this machine you can test it and it will be a .8-.9 in the blue! people this is almost anti-cancer water! how much is your body worth!
After drinking the lemon water on an empty stomach, how long should I wait before eating breakfast and having my morning coffee?
20-30 minutes.
Please How long do you reckon, after drinking lime water will i notice changes/improvement in my weight, and does it help with burning belly fat too?
Health writer Theresa Cheung, author of “The Lemon Juice Diet”, has written extensively about the benefits of lemon juice for dieters, and you can find more information about it in my article “How to Use Lemons to Lose Weight“. However lemon water is not a magic solution for weight loss, and will not do the job alone. There are many factor in how fast you lose weight, for example: your nutrition, how physically active you are, your metabolism, hormonal issues and more. So every person has a different time frame of losing weight.
Thanks so much for your spirit of altruism. I really love this article. Everything you have said on this issue of lemon water therapy is true……Please I have a little problem on how to combine this practice with the one am already on now. There is a water solution that I do take which contains a tablet called ‘Aquatabs’. Should I use the same water for the lime or fresh one? Please.
From what I’ve seen, Aquatabs are water purification tablets to prevent water borne diseases such as cholera, typhoid and dysentery. I don’t see any reason why you cannot use the same water solution and add to it the lemon or lime.
