Aloe vera is one of my favorite treatments for damaged skin. It contains active ingredients that help fight inflammation and block bacteria from infecting damaged and vulnerable organs—including our biggest organ, the skin. Carrot has also many benefits for the skin and is a common ingredient in many skin-care products. It has carotenoids and antioxidants that increase the skin’s immunity and help in healing minor burns (including sunburn) and wounds. It is used as a topical preparation to treat your skin, and it is safe for sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera and Carrot Cream

1/2 cup aloe vera gel
2 carrots
1/2 cup carrier oil (such as almond or jojoba oil)
1 tsp beeswax
2 tsp emulsifying wax
1 tsp vitamin C powder

Grate the carrot finely and place in a pan. Add the carrier oil and heat very gently for 20-30 minutes. Then strain and return the liquid to the pan. Add the beeswax and emulsifying wax to the pan, and stir while they melt. Add the aloe vera and vitamin C powder and whisk until the mixture goes smooth and creamy. Pout into a jar and leave to cool. While cooling the cream will thicken.

How to use? apply generously on wound, sunburn or sore area, 2-3 a day.
Storage – the cream keeps up to 2 months in the refrigerator.
